In Canada, legislation for the transportation of dangerous goods by air is contained in the Clear Language Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act and Regulations (TDGR), and by reference the International Civil Aviation Organization Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by air (ICAO Technical Instructions).

This comprehensive "TDG by Air (IATA) Online Training Program" follows Transport Canada Aviation's Training Advisory "TP 12208" which specifies the "Guidelines and References for the Development and Standardization of Dangerous Goods Training Programs for Air Transport". 

The minimum training requirements required by various personnel involved in the handling, or offering for transport of dangerous goods by air transport, as it relates to their assigned duties, are as per the following:

• General Packing Requirements
• Packing Instructions
• Packaging Specifications
• Labelling and Markings
• Shipper's Declaration and other Relevant Documentation 
• Recognition of Undeclared Dangerous goods
• Emergency procedures (2004 Emergency Response Guidebook))
• Canadian Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations Requirements (TDG Clear LAnguage Regulations - Part 12)

NOTE: The Dangerous Goods activities of the shippers will dictate the amount of information needed in the curriculum to meet the minimum training requirements.
